“Hundred dollar money’s here, hundred dollar money.” If you’ve read my short story, “Hundred Dollar Money” featured in Brown Girls Books latest anthology, Single Mama Dating Drama, then you’d know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s right there on page 16. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out the link on the homepage to get your copy so you too can be in on the laugh.
Hundred Dollar Money is here. It’s everywhere Single Mama Dating Drama is sold: Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Kobo, and even Google Play. And, and, and Hundred Dollar Money is getting wonderful reviews:
“Captured the essence of balancing parenting and love life in such a classic romantic way.”
“Hilarious…still laughing at Jack and Daniel…”

“…Beautifully done and executed.”
And the great thing about it is, those are just reviews for “Hundred Dollar Money”. The entire book is getting wonderful praise, from start to finish. And can we just acknowledge my family and friends who have showed up and showed out with buying the book and congratulating me? You can’t buy that type of support. That’s God, that’s favor, and that’s love. I can’t think of a better way to get a career started.
This whole journey means a lot to me and not just because “Hundred Dollar Money” is my first published piece. It represents me stepping out on faith; it represents my first attempt at writing. It’s kind of like when you’re watching your baby learn to walk for the first time. It’s an overwhelming sense of pride. And even though you see the wobbles, you’re just happy because you know that first step is the beginning of a whole new way of being and soon your baby will be off and running. That’s how I feel about Hundred Dollar Money. It’s my talent taking its first step and I’m trusting that my writing career is only going to take off from here. Excuse me while I do my happy dance.
